the doobie boyz

Mar 07

riding home yesterday after watching the harlem globetrotters play (thanks to a generous friend), we look up and see two familiar heads. (see pic below)

Doobie Boyz Billboard - Phoenix, AZ

i’ve never sat down and had lunch with them or anything but i’ve met them through friends when out and about. from what i hear and what i see, they seem to be doing really well on the scene. knowing this impressed me even more than seeing the billboard.

why?

because, who does that? how often do you see any promoter invest in their business beyond fliers and/or radio promotion (especially those in the ‘urban’ market)? i think this shows they’re serious about their business. yes business. most impressive is that they’re not waiting until business is slow to start marketing.

  • too many business owners think “we’re doing great.”
  • not enough business owners think “we’re doing great but what can we do better?”

i know not every business owner will have the resources for a billboard but i’m sure you can start asking yourself what you can do better. i know i can…

i think the doobie boyz (sorry, but i can’t find a site for them) realize that it’s a lot easier to stay on top than to fall off and try to climb back up again.

kudos to them. i wish them much success!

Doobie Boyz would like to thank you for your words it really touched us. It lets us know we are headed in the right direction. A few people told us it would be a waste to get a billboard but we didnt listen to them. Now we have three more going up on Monday, our goal is to have 10 all around the valley. We try to think outside the box, and to be successful thats what you have to do. Again thank you and may God continue to bless every thing you put your hands to.
